CAD ENGINEER (MARINE & OFFSHORE)

Summary

Creates structural fabrication and shop drawings for marine/offshore projects using AutoCAD; ensures compliance and supports production teams.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Engineer (Structural) to support marine and offshore projects through the preparation of detailed engineering, fabrication, and shop drawings. The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering, Production, and Construction teams to ensure drawings are accurate, compliant with project requirements, and delivered on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed shop, fabrication, assembly, and production drawings based on project specifications, engineering calculations, client requirements, and approved designs.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, project requirements, and applicable industry practices.
  • Develop and maintain accurate Material Take-Off (MTO) and material nesting plans.
  • Prepare and revise drawings to incorporate design changes, site feedback, and client comments.
  • Maintain drawing registers, numbering systems, revision control, and proper documentation.
  • Manage and organize drawing files to ensure timely updates and accessibility.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Construction, and other disciplines to resolve technical and drawing-related issues.
  • Provide drawing clarification and technical support to fabrication and construction teams.
  • Support project execution by ensuring the timely issuance of drawings and related documentation.
  • Participate in project reviews and contribute to continuous process improvements.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Marine, Offshore, Shipbuilding, Oil & Gas, Steel Structure, or Heavy Engineering projects.
  • Experience supporting fabrication, shipbuilding, or offshore construction projects.
  • Knowledge of production and construction workflows.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with fabrication drawings, structural detailing, welding details, and material nesting.
  • Knowledge of AVEVA Marine and/or Tekla Structures will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
