Cafe Manager
$21.45 - $22.95 PER HOUR
GENERAL PURPOSE:
The purpose of this position is to sell product by providing remarkable customer service. This person will maintain quality standards and product levels of all products at the Café. This person will be preparing coffee and espresso drinks, serving and sampling gelato, serving baked goods, training other Cafe associates, determining production and inventory levels, receiving and stocking product, and provide exceptional customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
Ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services the Café provides
Responsible for maintaining appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the Café
Confirms pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad items
Ensures the Café area is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearance
Delivers excellent customer service to all customers
Trains new Café associates
Prepares coffee and espresso drinks
Samples and serves gelato
Serves baked goods
Receives and stocks product for the Café
Cashiers for products purchased at the Café
Responsible for inventory and ordering for Café
Teaches, mentors, and educates associates to help them be successful members of the team
Provides honest, direct, and constant feedback to associates regarding their performance and areas of improvement
Assists as needed to ensure the success of the Bakery as a whole
MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:
A high school diploma or GED preferred; one year of barista experience preferred; or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Current Food Handler’s Permit
Ability to use good judgment and to make decisions quickly and independently
Ability to professionally and appropriately handle conflict
Must enjoy working with and handling coffee and gelato products
Should have a passion for preparing, drinking, and eating coffee and gelato products
Basic math skills for making change
Ability to interpret policies and procedures
Excellent organization and planning skills
Must possess solid communication skills, including verbal and listening skills in order to effectively and efficiently communicate with customers and fellow associates
Ability to professionally and appropriately handle conflict
Must possess the ability to accept constructive review and be accountable for one’s own success as well as the success of your team
Required to make logical, significant decisions using general, recognized skills and techniques

Work is generally performed in a safe and comfortable store environment with the possibility of frequent exposure to hot, cold, and wet conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach; perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and eye, hand, and foot coordination; hear and respond to customer inquiries. Also requires standing, walking, and bending throughout the entire workday and the ability to maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds from location to location.
