Call for Tenders: Content Analysis of Public Interest Media in Syria

Open 19d

Summary

Analyze content from Syrian media grantees to assess public-interest journalism standards, conflict sensitivity, and thematic framing over an 18-month period.

Call for Proposals: Content Analysis of Public-Interest Media in Syria

The International Fund for Public Interest Media (IFPIM) is seeking a qualified firm or consultant team to conduct systematic, comparable content analysis of a new cohort of ten media grantees operating in or reporting on Syria, over an 18-month grant period beginning in late September/early October 2026.

The assignment will assess how grantees fulfil their public-interest role, uphold professional standards, and practise responsible, conflict-sensitive journalism — including thematic analysis, a professional-standards assessment, and complementary gender-framing and sentiment analysis. Optional enhancements such as audience-engagement triangulation and wider media-ecosystem tracking would be a plus. The successful applicant will also produce tools that allow IFPIM to explore and report on the resulting data between reporting cycles.

Applicants should have demonstrated experience in content analysis or media monitoring in high-risk, conflict-affected environments, and working capacity in Arabic (Kurdish and English are a plus).

Deadline: 6 September 2026
