The Campus Security Manager is responsible for leading physical security operations in a cleared, mission-critical environment. Based primarily in Warrenton, Virginia, this role oversees multi-site security operations within the region, including personnel leadership, staffing continuity, compliance execution, incident response, audit readiness, and day-to-day operational performance. The manager serves as a key operational leader for cleared security personnel, ensuring site procedures are followed, service levels are maintained, and security requirements are consistently enforced. This role is ideal for a security operations leader with experience in high-accountability environments, team supervision, customer-facing operations, and compliance-driven program execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee armed and unarmed security services across one or more cleared data center locations, ensuring consistent service delivery, staffing coverage, and operational readiness.
- Lead the recruitment, selection, onboarding, training, development, scheduling, and retention of cleared security personnel supporting the program.
- Develop and maintain performance indicators, reporting tools, scorecards, and operational metrics to improve team effectiveness, accountability, and service quality.
- Prepare for and support internal, customer, and third-party audits, including announced and unannounced inspections, while demonstrating adherence to approved controls, procedures, and post orders.
- Partner regularly with on-site customer representatives and internal leadership to review site performance, address operational concerns, and drive continuous improvement across supported locations.
- Ensure all assigned security personnel are properly trained, qualified, and current on site procedures, systems, equipment, and contractual requirements relevant to their role.
- Ensure armed personnel meet all federal, state, local, and customer requirements, including training, certification, weapons handling standards, and use-of-force expectations before assuming duties.
- Manage incident escalation, documentation, root cause analysis, and after-action reporting, and coordinate timely follow-through on corrective actions.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph required.
- U.S. Citizenship required; must provide a valid U.S. Passport Book or Passport Card.
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing security teams, shift operations, or site-level security programs in a cleared or high-security environment.
- Experience supporting audits, inspections, incident response, and compliance-driven security operations.
- Strong customer service, professionalism, and judgment in a cleared, customer-facing environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interpret and enforce site procedures, post orders, and security requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related reporting, scheduling, incident documentation, or access-control support systems used in daily operations.
- Ability to support a 24/7 operation, including responsiveness during evenings, weekends, emergencies, and after-hours events, with travel to supported regional sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, security management, emergency management, business, or a related field.
- Prior experience overseeing armed security operations, cleared guard force operations, or regional site security programs.
- Experience with workforce scheduling, staffing coordination, performance metrics, scorecards, or security operations reporting.
- Experience leading onboarding, training, mentoring, or performance development for security personnel.
- Prior experience supporting critical infrastructure, secure facilities, or other mission-driven environments requiring strict procedural compliance.
