Card Game Localization / Product Development Executive (Jap to English)

Job Summary

Our Client is a leading Japanese entertainment company, producer of collectible card games and trading cards. They are looking for a Card Game Localization / Product Development Executive to join their team.

Responsibilities

• Lead scheduling and oversee the development and production of collectible card game products to ensure timely delivery and quality standards
• Collaborate effectively with Japanese companies to coordinate development and production activities, ensuring alignment with project goals (80% of role)
• Translate and localize card game products from Japanese to English, maintaining accuracy and cultural relevance (20% of role)
• Proofread localized text and product designs to ensure linguistic accuracy and consistency with brand standards
• Manage multiple tasks and schedules efficiently to meet project deadlines and support company events
• Apply knowledge of games or anime to enhance localization quality and product relevance
• Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail to identify and resolve linguistic and cultural nuances in localization
• Communicate clearly and professionally in both written and oral English and Japanese to liaise with Japanese-speaking associates daily
• Support company events by working on some weekends or public holidays as required
• Travel overseas for business trips when necessary to support development and production activities

Required competencies and certifications

• Diploma in any field
• Minimum JLPT N3 competency in Japanese to enable effective communication with Japanese partners

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• At least 1 year of relevant experience in localization or product development within the gaming or entertainment industry
• Knowledge of games or anime to support product localization and development
