PRN Dual Sonographer: RVT and Cardiology Echo | Vascular Sonographer (PRN)

Apex Vascular, part of US Heart and Vascular, is seeking a PRN Dual Sonographer (Vascular and Echocardiography) to support our growing vascular and cardiac diagnostic services in Lenoir City, just outside Knoxville, Tennessee. This role combines a full range of vascular ultrasound studies with cardiac echocardiography in a dedicated ultrasound suite, working alongside a collaborative, physician-led team.

Schedule

• PRN (as needed); shifts scheduled based on clinic coverage needs
• Clinic hours: Monday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• No weekends

What You’ll Do

Vascular

• Perform upper and lower extremity venous studies
• Perform upper and lower extremity arterial studies
• Perform carotid ultrasounds
• Perform abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) studies
• Perform AV fistula studies
• Conduct post-venous ablation follow-up ultrasounds

Cardiac

• Perform transthoracic echocardiograms (2D, M-mode, color, spectral, and tissue Doppler)
• Perform stress echocardiograms and other cardiac studies as applicable

All Studies

• Obtain high-quality images following established protocols
• Work closely with physicians and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent outcomes
• Provide compassionate, professional care to patients
• Maintain equipment and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards

What We’re Looking For

• Dual credentials preferred: Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) and a cardiac credential (RDCS or RCS)
• ARDMS or CCI certification required or eligible in vascular and/or echocardiography
• Approximately 1 year of vascular and/or echo experience preferred; PRN candidates should be comfortable working independently
• Strong technical skills with attention to detail
• Excellent patient communication skills
• Team-oriented, dependable, and flexible
