ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT

  • Understands and carries out the nursing care in line with Vision and Mission Statements, Goals and Objectives that suit the scope of the Nursing Services.
  • Works shift duties or as assigned by Unit Manager/Chief Nursing Officer according to Unit’s Operational Hours.
  • Informs Unit Manager/Chief Nursing Officer when change occurs in circumstances which affect standards of care.
  • Participates in the planning, development and evaluation of Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory facilities and services.
  • Participates in the health education of cardiac patients and their families in the ward/Critical Care Services
  • Assess condition of patient, compare with report.
  • Reports all abnormal findings and progress of patients to the relevant Cardiologist.
  • Discusses with Cardiologist regarding the approach of procedure and any special preference.
  • Ensures cleanliness of Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and gets ready for the subsequent patient
  • Enters all cases correctly in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Record Book.
  • Prepares the Angiography procedures according to the order of list.
  • Arranges/assists in transporting of patients pre-and post-procedure patients.
  • Checks Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory charges for completeness and charged accordingly.
  • Liaises and discusses with the relevant doctors / consultants with regards to care of patients in the unit / ward.
  • Assisting other services that require specialized technical assistance.
  • Establishes and develops effective communication with all disciplines, patients and relatives, to achieve optimal patient’ satisfaction
  • Attends and participates in unit meetings, dialogue sessions and hospital’s activities.
  • Carries out assignments scheduled by Unit Manager/Chief Nursing Officer and provide feedback.

HUMAN RESOURCE AND DEVELOPMENT

  • Takes personal responsibility for own professional development and keeps up to date with professional change and growth by maintaining mandatory learning hours.
  • Participates in the teaching program of the unit / ward and orientation of new members of staff to the unit routine.
  • Coordinates with Unit Manager for clinical training in the services.
  • Supports and assists the Unit Manager in effective and efficient utilization of staff, supplies and services.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

  • Contributes suggestions in periodic revision and upgrading of relevant Policies and Procedures and work instructions.
  • Checks daily and audits resuscitation trolley periodically as scheduled.
  • Ensure all staff complies with Prevention and Control of Infection including implementation of surveillance activity in the unit and evidence of involvement.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient’s personal and medical history

FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT

  • Operates / maintains specialized equipment assigned to the unit and provides assistance / guidance to new staff in their use.
  • Involves in the Service Budget including Purchased of new items for Cardiac Services.
  • Maintenance of Cardiac Equipment and Machinery
  • Assists the Unit Manager in keeping accurate records of equipment, medical supplies, and drugs in the unit.
  • Checks that all equipment in the unit are functioning well and service according to PPM schedule.
  • Report to Bio Medical personnel if any faulty and takes necessary action accordingly.
  • Assists in maintenance of instruments and equipment by proper cleaning, handling, disinfect and utilizing as directed

SAFETY AND QUALITY IMPROVEMENT ACTIVTIES

  • Fully receptive and supportive in the aParticipates in the teaching program of the unit / ward and orientation of new members of staff to the unit routine.
  • Coordinates with Unit Manager for clinical training in the services.
  • Supports and assists the Unit Manager in effective and efficient utilization of staff, supplies and services.
  • Deployment to OT / SPD and A&E services
