Cardiovascular Ultrasound Shift Coordinator - Cath Lab Ultrasound - FT 1.0 (80 hrs biweekly) (68751)
In an environment of continuous quality improvement, the Cardiovascular Ultrasound Shift Coordinator is responsible for managing and supervising activities in an assigned Cardiac Ultrasound area, on a specific shift. Exhibits the MHS Standards of Excellence and exercises strict confidentiality at all times.
Job Functions:
- Coordinates all aspects of patient care.
- Assists Physician with TEE
- Maintains clinical competency.
- Provides input for annual appraisal of staff in a timely, accurate and fair manner.
- Assists with study reviews/Audits.
- With appropriate education, training and validation, uses proper technique for intravenous line insertion, administers Definity and intravenous line discontinuation according to the facility protocol.
- Participates in hospital-wide and unit activities.
- Assists with interviewing and hiring process as requested.
- Coordinates new employee orientation/education/on-the-job training.
- Coordinates/assists with the rotation of diagnostic imaging students (Radiology, Ultrasound, etc.) in the Cardiovascular Lab.
- Assists with scheduling/staffing issues as requested.
- Assists with patient issues/concerns as required.
- Assists with disciplinary action when requested.
- Serves as resource person to other staff.
- 75% attendance at monthly department meetings (9/year for Cardio (Echo) Lab and 9/year for Vascular Lab).
- Obtains required assessments and collects needed data.
- Contributes to the development of a plan of care.
- Serves in Team Leader role.
- Has the authority and responsibility to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, discipline, direct, or recommend such actions by using independent judgment with Manager/Director oversight.
- Completes and conducts employee performance evaluations based on direct observation of their employee’s job performance with Manager/Director oversight.
- Granted authority to perform the supervisory duties and are held accountable for performing such duties.
- Utilizes A.I.D.E.T. with all patient interactions.
- Assigned and assist as super user for completion of incident report.
- Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
