Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and ambulation.
  • Provide medication reminders and routine skin care.
  • Support residents with housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation.
  • Accompany residents to medical appointments.
  • Monitor and report changes in residents’ conditions.
  • Assist with mobility aids and oxygen equipment.
  • Collect routine specimens and obtain resident weights.
  • Provide behavioral redirection and intervention.
  • Adhere to Department of Health regulations and care plans.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • HHA certification.
  • Experience in assisted living or memory care strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to seniors with patience and empathy.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and kneeling.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry residents and equipment (up to 50 lbs frequently; up to 100 lbs occasionally).
  • Manual dexterity for tasks such as typing, filing, and grasping.
  • Exposure to environmental conditions, including dust, odors, chemicals, and fluctuating temperatures.

Non-Physical Demands

  • Ability to analyze, evaluate, and respond to resident needs.
  • Strong reasoning and decision-making skills.
  • Visual acuity to observe resident conditions and monitor safety.
  • Emotional resilience and the ability to manage behavioral interventions.
  • Effective communication and documentation skills.
