Career Equipment Operator

About the Role:

As an Equipment Operator for the Orangeburg, SC Plant, you’ll set up and operate machines and may utilize blueprints, make adjustments for materials used, verify dimensional requirements, and transfer materials to storage areas.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate production machines to cut, bend, straighten, or form parts as specified by blueprints
• Lay up sequence and/or templates
• Read blueprints, adjust for thickness, and shape of materials and make appropriate settings
• Load material for processing, verify dimensional requirements
• Unload and may transfer materials to storage areas
• May use overhead cranes or forklift
• Follow all safety rules and practices
• Maintain a clean work environment through 5S activities
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience
• Ability to read blueprints, tape measures, and all other gauges
• Ability to operate three of the following equipment types: press break, shear, punch press, saw drill press or roller
• Ability to understand the technical aspects of the job
• Ability to follow verbal or simple written instructions and procedures
• Ability to measure accurately
• Ability to safely and efficiently perform all essential functions
• Ability to follow directions and maintain a professional work environment
• Ability to lift 55-120 lbs. continuously throughout the shift
• Good communication skills and the ability to work within a teamwork environment
• Regular and predictable attendance REQUIRED
