SUMMARY
The Case Specialist – ABA Clinic will work on assignment with the Home & Community Services (H&CS) program of the CCIU. This is a hybrid role responsible for providing direct one-to-one behavioral health interventions to children and adolescents receiving Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS), while also coordinating and managing assigned cases to ensure timely authorizations, accurate documentation, delivery of services, and continuity of care.
This position integrates clinical support, family engagement, and case coordination, serving as a key liaison between families, clinical staff, schools, and insurance providers. The incumbent must demonstrate strong clinical judgment, organization, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team. Additionally, the Case Specialist – ABA Clinic must have reliable transportation to travel between ABA clinics and provide the minimum of 15 hours per week of substitute coverage as a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT).
- Compensation: The full-time annual salary is $42,000 - $43,000 (non-exempt), Paid Time Off, Paid holidays
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct Behavioral Health Services:
- Provide one‑to‑one emotional support and behavioral interventions to children and adolescents in home, school, and community settings.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
- Model appropriate emotional regulation, pro‑social behavior, conflict resolution, anger management, and peer interaction skills.
- Support families in strengthening home routines and promoting stabilization across environments.
- Collect session data and document client progress in accordance with treatment plans and regulatory requirements.
- Attend required supervision, team meetings, and ongoing trainings.
- Billing the minimum of 15 hours per week of substitute coverage as a BHT.
Case Coordination:
- Coordinate and oversee assigned caseloads, including service intakes, authorizations, and ongoing case maintenance.
- Track, collect, and submit documentation required for insurance authorization and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date case information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Monitor treatment plans for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Collaborate with coordinators, supervisors, consultants, and families to ensure continuity of services.
- Assist with staffing cases, identifying open staffing needs, and coordinating schedules to meet client needs.
- Participate in interagency meetings, including family and team planning meetings, to develop and review summaries of care.
Requirements
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working in behavioral health, case management, or related human services field preferred.
- Knowledge of Medical Assistance (MA) and insurance authorization processes preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year BHT related experience – required
- Minimum of 6 months of employment with CCRES – preferred
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Working knowledge in ABA interventions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships with children, adolescents, and families.
- Ability to work independently with moderate freedom to act while exercising sound judgment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.
- Computer literacy and proficiency with electronic documentation and web‑based systems.
- Ability to travel to multiple service locations.
