Summary

Processes payments, reconciles accounts, and monitors credit exposure for a natural gas and power company using Microsoft Office and financial databases.

Job Summary:

The Cash Management and Credit Specialist is an entry-level position that ensures adherence to cash management and credit policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Process incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts
  • Follow up with customers regarding past-due payments
  • Process payments and manage reporting on controlled accounts utilized for collateral
  • Assist credit analysts with making and responding to daily margin/collateral requests
  • Update Power Tools Platform and ARAP database to ensure accuracy of data and reports
  • Monitor credit exposure in relation to credit limits
  • Run, review, and distribute accounts receivables aging and credit risk reports
  • Evaluate counterparties’ financial condition to determine creditworthiness and recommend credit limits
  • Various other projects as assigned

Education/Experience/Skills

Basic Requirements:

  • 4-year degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or another related field; however, work experience may be accepted in lieu of a 4 year degree
  • Problem solving skills, ability to use logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches, distinguish trends and impacts, and identify causes and effects
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, etc.)
  • Ability to prioritize assigned projects and tasks
  • Must have strong customer service, time management, and written/verbal communication skills

Preferred Requirements:

  • Prior experience in accounts receivable management
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.)
  • Understanding of the wholesale and/or retail electricity industry
  • Programming experience, particularly with VBA and/or C#
