Cashier

The Cashier is the face of Ling Nam Express to every guest. You run the register, manage the display case, and deliver the Feeling First experience on every order. You work closely with the bakery team to keep orders moving and report to the Shift Supervisor on duty.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Register & Guest Service

• Operate the POS system — process orders, handle payments, issue receipts, and manage the display case
• Greet every guest with warmth and deliver the Feeling First experience: make them feel Seen, Safe, Surprised, Valued, and like they Belong
• Manage order fulfillment — coordinate with the bakery team to ensure bread and menu items are ready and packaged to standard
• Handle routine guest questions and concerns with warmth and professionalism; escalate complaints to the Shift Supervisor
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked front-of-house throughout the shift

Team & Operations

• Participate in the pre-shift huddle led by the Shift Supervisor — know the daily targets and your role assignment
• Complete assigned front-of-house opening or closing checklist tasks on time every shift
• Count your drawer accurately at the start and end of each shift and follow all cash-handling procedures
• Report any equipment, supply, or safety issues to the Shift Supervisor right away
• Follow all food safety and sanitation standards throughout the shift

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required

• Cash handling and POS experience (or willingness to learn — we will train)
• Friendly, outgoing, and genuinely enjoys serving guests
• Calm under pressure and able to keep a busy register line moving
• Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire)
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented

Preferred

• 6+ months of experience in a customer-facing QSR, retail, or food service role
• Familiarity with Filipino or Chinese bakery products
• Bilingual in Filipino (Tagalog) or Spanish
• Daytime and weekend availability
