Description:

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate is expected to provide excellent customer service while accurately processing transactions. This role requires strong cash handling skills, proficiency with a cash register and point of sale (POS) systems, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The Cashier should have a positive attitude and be detail-oriented, ensuring cleanliness and proper stocking of merchandise.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately handle cash and credit card transactions, demonstrating proficiency in cash handling.
• Operate the cash register and POS system efficiently, ensuring accuracy in all transactions.
• Provide exceptional customer service, greeting customers warmly and assisting with their needs.
• Bag merchandise carefully and efficiently, ensuring items are handled with care.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including cleanliness of the counter and surrounding areas.
• Stock merchandise as needed, ensuring shelves are well-stocked and presentable.
• Answer customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
• Utilize selling techniques to promote products and increase sales.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines, if applicable.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills when interacting with customers and colleagues.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of cash register operation.
• General knowledge of basic arithmetic and general mathematics.
• Ability to handle cash and credit card transactions accurately.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong communication skills in the English language.
• Ability to multitask effectively.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Experience with point of sale (POS) systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a retail or restaurant operation environment.
• Familiarity with stocking merchandise and merchandising techniques.
• Experience with selling techniques.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
