Description:

The Cashier is a vital member of our team, responsible for providing excellent customer service while efficiently processing transactions. This role requires a friendly and detail-oriented individual with strong cash handling skills, proficiency in using a Point of Sale (POS) system, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Cashier is expected to maintain a clean and organized workspace, demonstrating positivity and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately and efficiently operate the cash register and POS system, ensuring all transactions are processed correctly.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, providing accurate change and balancing the cash drawer at the end of each shift.
• Greet customers warmly and provide friendly and efficient customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Bag merchandise carefully and assist customers with their purchases, demonstrating excellent sales and selling techniques.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including stocking merchandise and ensuring cleanliness.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, maintaining a safe and hygienic work environment.
• Demonstrate strong arithmetic skills to calculate totals, discounts, and change accurately.
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members, providing clear and concise information.
• Assist with merchandising efforts, ensuring products are displayed attractively.
• Demonstrate the ability to multitask, handling multiple customer needs simultaneously.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of cash handling procedures.
• General knowledge of basic arithmetic and general mathematics.
• Working knowledge of customer service principles.
• Ability to communicate effectively in the English language.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Working knowledge of cash register operation.
• Ability to demonstrate positivity and a friendly demeanor.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a restaurant operation environment.
• Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems.
• Experience in a retail or customer-facing role.
• Demonstrated ability to handle customer complaints effectively.
