Job Description

Save More Food Market is looking for friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Cashiers to join our team!

As a Cashier, you'll play an important role in creating a positive shopping experience for our customers. This position is responsible for providing fast, accurate, and friendly checkout service while maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming Front-End environment.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, has a positive attitude, and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, efficient checkout service.
• Accurately scan merchandise, process transactions, and handle cash, credit, debit, and other forms of payment.
• Assist customers with questions, product locations, and general store information.
• Properly bag groceries while handling merchandise with care.
• Maintain an accurate cash drawer and follow company cash-handling procedures.
• Assist customers with self-checkout transactions when needed.
• Verify identification for age-restricted purchases and follow applicable laws and company policies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of checkout lanes, registers, and surrounding areas.
• Assist with stocking, returning merchandise, and other Front-End tasks as assigned.
• Communicate customer concerns, pricing discrepancies, and operational issues to supervisors.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and customer service standards.
• Work collaboratively with team members to keep checkout lines moving efficiently.

Requirements

Job Requirements

• Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person!
• Friendly, positive attitude and strong customer service skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance.
• Basic math skills and ability to handle cash accurately.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
• Comfortable learning and operating point-of-sale equipment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
