Working under the guidance of supervisors and team leaders, you will be responsible for assembling, inspecting, and testing electronic components and sub‑assemblies according to work instructions and quality standards.
This is an hourly, casual role, which means work is subject to operational demand, availability, and capacity—you may not be called to work every day. This position is ideal for individuals seeking flexible work, who are detail‑oriented and comfortable working with small components in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
What You'll Do
- Assemble electronic components, sub‑assemblies, and finished products following written work instructions, schematics, and diagrams
- Perform basic soldering, wiring, crimping, and mechanical assembly tasks using hand tools and small power tools
- Inspect parts and assemblies for defects, alignment, and proper fit to ensure products meet quality and safety standards
- Follow established production processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work orders to meet schedule and output targets
- Handle, place, and secure small electronic parts and hardware with precision and care to avoid damage or contamination
- Use basic test equipment or fixtures, as directed, to verify functionality of assembled units and document test results
- Accurately label, package, and prepare completed assemblies for the next stage of production or shipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation in compliance with company safety policies and guidelines
- Report material shortages, equipment issues, or product non‑conformances to the supervisor or team lead
- Work variable hours on a casual basis, responding to calls for work depending on daily and weekly production needs
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to continuously improve assembly methods, efficiency, and product quality
- Complete required production records, time reporting, and basic documentation accurately and on time
Qualifications
- Previous experience in electronics assembly, manufacturing, or a related hands‑on production role is an asset (entry‑level candidates with a strong interest in electronics will also be considered)
- Ability to read and follow basic work instructions, diagrams, and labels
- Good manual dexterity and hand‑eye coordination for handling small components and detailed assembly work
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and consistently
- Basic familiarity with common hand tools and small power tools used in assembly (e.g., screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, soldering irons)
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift, move, or position materials and products as required by the job
- Willingness and availability to work on a casual, on‑call basis with variable hours depending on production demand
- Commitment to following safety procedures, quality standards, and workplace policies at all times
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively in a team‑based environment
