Join our team as a Casual Sonographer!
This position offers a flexible schedule with rotating 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday and includes participation in an on-call rotation, covering weekends and holidays. Casual Sonographers work alongside a supportive care team, following UPMC standards to help ensure patients receive timely, compassionate, and reliable diagnostic imaging services.

Responsibilities\:
- Perform Imaging Procedures\: Conduct ultrasound procedures independently, using your judgment and initiative.
- Assist with Invasive Procedures\: Support physicians during invasive procedures, adhering to universal protocol standards.
- Manage Exam Documentation\: Ensure exams are properly coded, tracked, networked for archiving and interpretation, and charges are accurately entered.
- High-Level Disinfection\: Handle disinfection of devices, supplies, and equipment as needed.
- Communicate Effectively\: Clearly explain procedures to patients, easing their fears and gaining their cooperation.
- Patient Identification\: Use two patient identifiers and follow universal protocol for accurate patient identification.
- Review and Document Patient History\: Assess physician orders, apply departmental protocols, and document patient history in electronic records.
- Interact with Care Team\: Collaborate with patients and co-workers, demonstrating care, respect, and teamwork.
- Optimize Imaging Techniques\: Utilize ultrasound instrumentation effectively to obtain high-quality images and data.
