Catchment Research Manager

Are you an experienced clinical research leader looking to shape the future of research across a growing healthcare network?

Ramsay Health Care is seeking a Catchment Research Manager to lead the strategic growth and operational success of clinical trials and research across the Illawarra/Southern Highlands catchment. Based at Wollongong Private Hospital/ Southern Highlands Private Hospital, you'll provide leadership and support across multiple hospitals, building capability, fostering collaboration and expanding access to high-quality clinical research for patients and clinicians alike.

Working closely with the National Research & Development Network, hospital executives, clinicians and industry partners, you'll play a pivotal role in strengthening Ramsay's reputation as a destination for world-class clinical research.

About the Role

This is a dynamic leadership position responsible for overseeing the development, performance and growth of research activities across the Illawarra/Southern Highlands catchment. You'll lead multidisciplinary research teams, build strong stakeholder relationships, identify new research opportunities and ensure the highest standards of governance, quality and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the strategic growth of clinical trials and research across the Illawarra/Southern Highlands catchment.

  • Managing and developing multidisciplinary clinical research teams across multiple hospital sites.

  • Building strong partnerships with clinicians, hospital executives, sponsors and external stakeholders.

  • Driving business development by expanding research opportunities, therapeutic areas and patient recruitment.

  • Overseeing financial performance, resource planning and operational delivery across the catchment.

  • Ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), regulatory requirements and quality frameworks.

  • Promoting a collaborative, high-performing research culture that supports innovation and exceptional patient outcomes.

About You

You are a collaborative and commercially aware leader with extensive experience managing clinical research operations and developing high-performing teams.

You'll also bring:

  • Significant experience leading clinical trials or clinical research operations within a healthcare environment.

  • Qualifications in Science, Nursing, Allied Health or a related discipline.

  • Strong leadership and people management capability.

  • Experience managing budgets and operational performance.

  • A proven ability to build relationships with clinicians, executives, sponsors and external partners.

  • Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • A sound understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and the regulatory requirements governing clinical research.

Experience working with clinical trial sponsors, investigator-led research or business development within a research setting will be highly regarded.
