Category Manager, Fashion & Living, China
The Category Manager, Fashion & Living for Greater China is responsible for developing and executing a long-term business strategy for the category of Fashion and Living that leverages the richness of NBCUniversal’s entertainment content to build a sustainable business that achieves annual revenue targets.
As part of the China Consumer Products team, the Category Manager, you will be responsible for growing the Consumer Products business in line with divisional strategies and guidelines while leveraging a strong knowledge of the local markets’ individual needs and opportunities. You will be responsible for identifying the best licensees to partner with, driving innovative and quality product ranges, providing valuable input and local executional support to key partners while monitoring partner‘s business performance as well as managing daily works in high quality and efficiency.
Strategy:
- Long -term category vision: formulate and execute a multi-year business development strategy tailored to market dynamics and consumer behaviors in China.
- Define and drive category growth roadmap and translating opportunities into actionable commercial milestones.
Financial Knowledge:
- Tracking annual goals to deliver annual revenue targets. Own end-to-end category performance, setting clear KPIs for growth and meaningful solution all the time Monitor key partner ‘s business updates at daily basis. Handle work in high quality and highlight any sensitivities.
Category Management:
- Establish a clear growth roadmap for managed categories, backed by strong financial target and measurable performance tracking.
- Proactively monitor market dynamics and consumer trends to resolve category gaps, capitalizing on market shifts and navigating challenging market conditions to drive commercial growth.
- Lead initiatives across product development, channel strategy and retail execution to raise quality benchmarks and strengthen franchise & retail presence.
- Drive seamless collaboration across internal and external stakeholders, maintaining a relentless focus on continuous improvement and achieving ambitious goals.
Licensee Management:
- Build and manage an agile portfolio of licensees to scale of the Consumer Products business, continuously auditing partner performance to ensure optimal market coverage, operational capability, and brand alignment.
- Directly manage relationship strategy and commercial execution for key global and local licensees, aligning goals with shifting consumer trends and channel dynamics
- Lead end-to-end negotiations-from contract terms to omnichannel launch-maximizing commercial value while safeguarding brand equity and incorporating local market needs
- Build active partnerships across key brand partners, digital platforms, social commerce channels, and retail networks to cross leverage resources and unlock new business models.
Franchise Development:
- Drive sustainable franchise growth strategy in line with core business objectives, identifying onboarding and leverage collaborating with top -tier strategic market partners.
- Brief and manage multi-format assets to respond to market demands and channel needs.
Retail Development:
- Partner with retail internal retail teams to target key category accounts, establishing strong working relationships with key decision-makers to drive commercial growth.
- Capitalize on local market seasonality and promotional windows to support localized franchise plans and elevate sell-through.

Basic Requirements:
- Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in working experience in brand licensing, consumer products, brand marketing, e-commerce or key retail category management with a multi-national corporate environment or leading advertising/marketing agency.
- Solid foundation in B2B partner management and deal execution, paired with deep understanding of B2C brand marketing, consumer engagement, and omnichannel retail.
- Strategic thinker with proven ability to define, articulate, and execute a compelling multi-year growth vision for the business.
- Deep understanding of evolving market dynamics, omnichannel retail shifts, and changing consumer purchasing behaviors.
- Outstanding pitch, presentation, and contract negotiation skills with a track record of closing high-value commercial agreements.
- Strong financial acumen and ability to analyze market metrics, manage P & L targets, and deliver sustainable revenue growth.
- Hands-on capability to prioritize and dealing with multi-tasks by timeline.
- Established executive network across key licensees, brand partners, e-commerce platforms, and major regional /global retailers.
- Fluent in Mandarin and business level English, both written and spoken, with exceptional interpersonal skills to influence internal and external stakeholders across all levels.
- Able to travel as business required
