Category Manager - Hardware

You will develop and execute global sourcing strategies for technology hardware. You will lead sourcing events, negotiate with OEMs and suppliers, monitor supply-chain risks, and advise Infrastructure and Technology stakeholders on hardware requirements, refresh planning, standardization, and total-cost-of-ownership decisions. You will maintain procurement records and use AI and emerging tools to automate routine work.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for the global hardware category
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing events for servers, compute, networking, storage, and enterprise hardware
  • Develop commercial evaluation models and negotiation strategies
  • Manage key OEM and supplier relationships
  • Negotiate pricing, warranties, support models, and service levels
  • Monitor supplier performance, lead times, allocation, lifecycle planning, and supply risks
  • Advise Infrastructure and Technology teams on sourcing strategies and total-cost-of-ownership decisions
  • Align supplier strategies and commercial frameworks with global Procurement colleagues
  • Monitor hardware market trends, component availability, allocation risk, and pricing
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, governance, contracting standards, and procurement-record requirements
  • Use AI and emerging tools to automate routine work

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of experience in technology procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management with significant technology hardware procurement exposure
  • Experience in financial services, trading, or high-performance technology environments
  • Experience sourcing enterprise hardware, including servers, compute, networking, storage, and related infrastructure
  • Experience delivering complex end-to-end sourcing projects through contract execution
  • Commercial negotiation experience with OEMs, distributors, and strategic suppliers
  • Knowledge of hardware supply-chain dynamics, including lead times, allocation, refresh planning, warranties, and support models
  • Analytical capability in total cost of ownership, should-cost modelling, and commercial evaluation
  • Experience translating engineering requirements into sourcing decisions
  • Experience with procurement systems such as Coupa or SAP Ariba
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Familiarity with operational resilience, ICT third-party risk management, or DORA
  • Professional procurement qualification such as CIPS, CPSM, or NEVI
