The Company…
This established catering company has grown
into one of Melbourne’s most dedicated corporate, funeral, and event caterers.
They offer a wide range of finger food options, including gourmet finger
food and platters to share. They have an experienced team that prides itself on
delivering high food quality to its clients and maintaining excellent food
safety standards. Their commercial kitchen is located in Boronia, and they are
currently seeking experienced catering assistants/kitchen and
sandwich hands that enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
The Position…
The Catering Assistant role is a hands-on
position requiring you to assist with food preparation. In addition, you may be
required to perform general cleaning duties within the kitchen and food
preparation areas. You will need to perform all food handling tasks in
accordance with government food safety & handling regulations. A minimum of
15 hours weekly will be on offer, with early morning starts a must (between 4am
and 5am). Working hours will generally be Monday to Friday, although some
weekend and evening work may be required. Generally, the working hours
will be spread over three days per week.
This position would particularly suit a university or
TAFE (or similar) student.
Ideal Candidate Criteria…
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Previous experience working in a commercial
kitchen (mandatory)
- Good time management & organisational skills
- Good communication skills
- Have the ability to learn quickly
- A positive and friendly work attitude
- Current Victorian driver’s licence (mandatory)
- Must have own car & mobile phone (mandatory)
