Assists cardiologists and radiologists in a cardiovascular lab by preparing equipment, monitoring patient data, and supporting invasive cardiac procedures.
Overview
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the physician (Cardiologist/Radiologist), will assist by scrubbing procedures or monitoring physiologic and hemodynamic data, as related to diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures performed in the cardiovascular lab. Ensures procedure room is adequately prepared for the procedure. Monitors par level of all instruments and supplies. Participate in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities, and the training of new staff. Assist in all aspects of invasive and cardiac procedures.
Responsibilities
Understands the use of procedural equipment necessary.
Assists in stocking supplies on a daily basis.
Assists in retrieval and copying of images as requested.
Archives EP studies routinely per vendor.
Utilizes and documents in procedural documentation system.
Works as a team player assisting other staff and physicians.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
Previous experience or training in a Cardiovascular Lab; required.Cardiovascular technician training program with emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring preferred. BLS (AHA) certification required
ACLS (AHA) certification required. Certified Cardiovascular Technician; CCPT (invasive emphasis), Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), CCPT (invasive emphasis), preferred.
EP Electrophysiology Pacing experence Preferred.
