Summary
Provide rehabilitation treatments for animals, including massage, hydrotherapy, and laser therapy, while maintaining patient records and communicating with clients and veterinarians.
Perform a variety of duties in the Rehabilitation Therapy Unit and perform rehabilitation treatments

Qualifications
- NYS Veterinary Technician’s license (or permit)
- Ability to handle and restrain all species of animal
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to bend or kneel for extended periods of time while helping with patient restraint
- Must be able to work successfully as part of a team
- Ability to work independently and proactively
- Follow detailed directions and established protocols
- Electronic medical record experience preferred
- Must have flexibility necessary to work weekends, holidays and additional hours as needed
- CCRP (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner) CCRVT (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Veterinary Technician) or CCRA (Certified Canine Rehabilitation assistant)
Responsibilities
- Rehabilitation treatments including exercising, massage, hot/cold packing, tub/treadmill treatments, ultrasound, hot/cold therapy, laser treatments and acupuncture
- Assess patients on discharge
- Communicate professionally with clients and referral veterinarians regarding the patient’s rehabilitation progress
- Maintain concise and accurate records of the patient’s treatment progress and charges
- Assist in planning, performing and tailoring rehabilitation treatments according to patient’s needs
- Maintain the cleanliness of Rehabilitation Department
- Order and stock supplies as necessary
- All other related duties as assigned
