As CDC Operations Manager (m/f/d), you will take overall operational responsibility for our Central Distribution Center in Basel - from warehouse operations and order fulfillment through distribution execution and site transformation.

This is a pivotal leadership role at the heart of our logistics network. You will lead an integrated operation across warehouse, order management and distribution, while shaping the transition towards a more automated, technology-enabled and future-ready environment.

You will combine operational leadership with transformation expertise, working across functions and with senior stakeholders to deliver reliable service, operational excellence and sustainable improvements in productivity, quality, cost and resilience.

Your responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee end-to-end CDC Basel warehouse and distribution operations, ensuring excellence across inbound logistics, inventory management, storage, order fulfillment, shipping, returns, and distribution performance
• Own operational performance across service, productivity, order cycle time, inventory accuracy, quality, compliance and cost
• Lead and develop the Basel warehouse, distribution and order management organization, including workforce planning, capability development and succession planning
• Establish a clear performance management cadence using KPIs, structured problem solving and effective escalation routines
• Lead major transformation initiatives, including Uptown migration, Mikado warehouse workstreams and automation readiness, translating strategic programs into executable site plans and successful implementation
• Drive process simplification and continuous improvement across warehouse and distribution operations
• Ensure safe, compliant and efficient warehouse operations, including temperature-critical handling, inventory controls and audit readiness
• Partner closely with IT, automation specialists and technology providers to ensure reliable performance of the automated warehouse environment
• Lead the operational interface between order management, warehouse execution and transportation, ensuring reliable cross-border and time-critical fulfillment
• Manage budgets, capacity planning, investment priorities and business continuity planning for CDC Basel

Your profile:

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration or a related field
• Extensive experience leading warehouse, distribution, logistics or supply chain operations in a complex environment
• Proven leadership experience with end-to-end accountability for service, productivity, quality, inventory, capacity and cost
• Experience with ASRS, shuttle, goods-to-person or comparable automation technologies
• Strong track record in operational transformation, such as warehouse redesign, site moves, WMS implementation, automation or business integration
• Experience working with technology-enabled or automated warehouse environments and a solid understanding of WMS/ERP and warehouse automation
• Experience in international distribution, order fulfillment, cross-border shipments and service-provider management
• Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change and develop capable, high-performing teams
• Strong analytical and continuous improvement mindset, with a pragmatic, data-driven approach
• Fluency in German and English
• Experience in a regulated environment such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals or healthcare
• Lean Six Sigma, project/program management or relevant warehouse systems and automation training
