CDL A/B Delivery Driver

Job Summary

A&L Foods is seeking reliable and safety-focused Drivers to transport products between our facilities and customer locations. Depending on route assignments and qualifications, drivers may operate CDL Class A, CDL Class B, or non-CDL vehicles. This role is responsible for delivering products safely, accurately, and on time while maintaining compliance with company policies, DOT regulations, and food safety standards.

Routes may include local deliveries, overnight trips, multi-day routes, warehouse transfers, and other transportation-related assignments.

What You'll Do

• Safely operate company vehicles while following all company policies and applicable regulations.
• Deliver products to customer locations and company facilities in a timely and professional manner.
• Complete local, overnight, and multi-day delivery routes as assigned.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Ensure products are properly loaded, secured, and delivered in good condition.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and moving products when needed.
• Verify delivery paperwork, invoices, manifests, and proof of delivery documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, vehicle inspections, and hours worked.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, management, warehouse teams, and customers.
• Provide outstanding customer service during all deliveries.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and transportation policies.
• Maintain required product temperatures and ensure product integrity throughout the route.
• Keep vehicles clean, organized, and operating safely.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous delivery driving experience preferred.
• Food distribution experience is a plus.
• Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Ability to accurately complete delivery documentation.
• Must possess and maintain all required licenses, certifications, and medical certifications for the vehicles operated.
• Satisfactory driving record required.
• Must successfully complete applicable pre-employment and random drug/alcohol testing requirements.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and climbing.
• Ability to lift and move products weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Comfortable working in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
• Ability to safely operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, lift gates, and other delivery equipment.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
• Frequent travel on highways, rural roads, and city routes.
