Discussion

Location: Jackson, MS 39201 | Pay: $2,000 to $2,100 per week
Home Time: Every weekend with a 34-hour reset | Experience: 6+ months flatbed required
Freight: Dedicated stainless-steel coils and sheets

Flatbed Freight Consistency / Steady Route Planning

  • Assigned Kenworth T680 tractor
  • Dedicated stainless-steel outbound loads
  • Planned flatbed backhaul freight
  • Home every weekend with a 34-hour reset

From Outbound Load to Weekend Reset

The freight plan begins with dedicated stainless-steel loads originating near Calvert, Alabama. Following delivery, drivers pick up available flatbed backhauls that help position them toward Alabama rather than routinely returning empty. The operating cycle finishes with dependable weekend home time.

Built for Experienced Steel Haulers

Drivers handle smaller stainless-steel coils and flat stainless-steel sheets. Freight is primarily live loaded and live unloaded, and approximately 75% of outbound loads require tarping.

Steel-hauling, coil, tarping, and load-securement experience are important parts of this position.

Truck and Trailer

Newer-model Kenworth T680 tractors are matched with 2025 Extreme 48-foot flatbed trailers. Drivers keep the same trailer throughout the trip.

  • 12 winches and straps
  • Two lightweight six-foot drop tarps
  • Assigned tractor and trailer
  • No trailer drop-and-hook operation

Compensation and Orientation

Weekly earnings are $2,000 to $2,100, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus available to qualified drivers. Tarp compensation is included within the account's overall pay program.

Orientation is Monday through Thursday and pays $100 per day. Hotel accommodations, meals, and travel arrangements are provided.
