Dedicated Flatbed Freight With Productive Backhaul Planning
This position is designed for CDL-A drivers who already know flatbed and steel hauling. Dedicated stainless-steel freight originates near Calvert, Alabama, with backhaul planning used after deliveries to keep freight moving rather than relying on unnecessary empty return miles.
How the Account Runs
Drivers haul smaller stainless-steel coils and flat stainless-steel sheets on outbound loads. Most freight is live loaded and live unloaded. Approximately 75% of loads require tarping, and the account uses lightweight six-foot drop tarps rather than larger traditional flatbed tarps.
Available backhaul freight is selected to move drivers efficiently toward Alabama and the next customer load. Backhauls can include lumber, insulation, and other appropriate flatbed commodities.
Assigned Equipment
Newer-model Kenworth T680 tractors are paired with 2025 Extreme 48-foot flatbed trailers. Trailers are equipped with 12 winches, straps, and two six-foot drop tarps. The same trailer stays with the driver throughout the trip.
Weekly Schedule & Compensation
Drivers are home every weekend for a 34-hour reset. Weekly pay is $2,000 to $2,100, with tarp compensation included within the account's overall pay program. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available to qualified drivers.
Paid orientation is Monday through Thursday at $100 per day. Hotel accommodations, meals, and travel arrangements are provided.
