Flatbed freight reliability and steady lane planning create a dependable routine for experienced CDL-A drivers. With freight that includes building materials, pipe, coils, and similar loads, this position combines hands-on flatbed work with established lanes and assigned equipment.

Flatbed Freight & Pay

Drivers are paid 70 CPM on loaded and empty miles with weekly earnings of $1,675 to $1,775.

  • $30 additional pay is provided on every load

  • Tarping is needed on approximately 3 out of 5 loads

  • The $30 load payment applies whether the load requires tarping or not

  • Solo drivers receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus

Load securement is part of the regular work, and drivers should have previous flatbed experience with tarping and securement.

Home Time & Running Area

Freight primarily runs east of I-35. Drivers are typically out 7–14 days before returning home for a 34–48 hour reset, creating a dependable schedule for both road time and home time.

Truck & Trailer

Each driver receives assigned equipment for a more consistent experience on the road.

  • 2020–2025 Peterbilt 567 and 579 tractors

  • Automatic and manual transmission options

  • 2024 48-foot spread-axle flatbed trailers

  • Governed speed of 70 MPH

The assigned truck may be taken home when the driver has a safe place to park it. Regular maintenance helps keep equipment dependable and minimize downtime.

Transition Pay & Driver Options

Transition pay is available during the first few weeks while drivers become familiar with the routes, scheduling, and dispatch operation.

One pet may ride along with no breed or weight restrictions, and cats are welcome. Drivers may also bring one passenger age 10 or older with the required liability form.

Benefits

Health insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, and vacation time are available.

CDL-A Requirements

  • Valid CDL-A license

  • At least 1 year of tractor-trailer experience within the last 5 years

  • Minimum of 6 months of flatbed experience

  • Tarping and load securement experience
