Local CDL-A Reefer Driver – Great Pay | No-Touch Freight

Earn $85,000–$100,000 per year delivering fresh and frozen groceries throughout New York and surrounding markets. This dedicated local position offers daily home time, established delivery routes, and mostly no-touch freight.

Pay Details

  • Average Weekly Pay: Approximately $1,700–$1,950
  • Double dock pay available
  • Additional compensation may apply when supporting other accounts

Job Details

  • Deliver fresh and frozen groceries using 46', 48', 51', and 53' reefer trailers.
  • Delivery area includes the Hudson Valley, New York City boroughs, Long Island, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania backhaul routes.
  • Approximately 15 or more stops per week.
  • Complete two loads per day or one longer load, depending on the route.
  • Pick up returns at final stops or backhaul freight to the distribution center.
  • Mostly no-touch freight; customer unloads and the driver assists as needed.
  • Drivers may support other distribution-center accounts 2–3 days per week.
  • Pallet jack unloading may be required when assisting other accounts.
  • Strong customer service skills are expected.

Shift Details

  • Home daily
  • Holiday work required when the holiday falls on a scheduled workday and the account is operating.
  • Thanksgiving and Christmas are typically off.
  • New Year’s Day off is not guaranteed.

Job Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Minimum 3 months of verifiable Class A CDL experience
  • DOT Medical Card
  • Clean driving record
  • No SAP drivers
  • Reliable personal transportation to and from work
  • Ability to provide professional customer service
  • Willingness to support other local accounts and perform pallet jack unloading when needed
  • New drivers must complete required training before operating solo routes in New York City.
  • Drivers will not run NYC routes until they have been on the account for at least 6 months.

Equipment & Benefits

  • Automatic and manual day cabs
  • Reefer trailers ranging from 46' to 53'
  • Slip-seat operation; same-truck assignments are preferred but not guaranteed
  • Trucks cannot be taken home
  • Uniforms provided and maintained by the account
  • Newer equipment, averaging approximately 3 years old
  • Training provided for pallet jack operation
