CDL-A Semi-Local Building Products Driver – $92K/Year

Earn approximately $92,000 per year on a dedicated semi-local building products account with home most days. Drivers average 1,000 miles per week, make 5-10 deliveries per day, and may earn additional pay for driver-unload deliveries.

$92,000 per year

• Average Weekly Pay: $1,769
• $50 per driver-unload delivery
• Average of approximately 30 driver-unload deliveries per week
• PTO available immediately:
  • 1.5 hours per week initially
  • 2.3 hours per week after 6 years
  • 3 hours per week after 19 years

Job Details

• Dedicated building products account
• Approximately 1,000 miles per week
• Pick up trailers from the Racine, WI
• Deliver to customer locations throughout WI, IL, and MI
• Average 5-10 stops per day
• Delivery locations include jobsites, construction sites, and small businesses
• Tailgate product at deliveries
• Slide product to the end of the trailer for the customer to remove
• Products can range from 5 lbs to 250+ lbs
• May occasionally assist with manual unloading
• Reposition load securement bars after each stop
• Scan products with a customer-provided scanner to verify deliveries
• Update ETAs and communicate delivery delays to customers and management
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills are important
• Must follow customer procedures for loaded-trailer check-in and trailer placement
• Must be comfortable navigating and backing in tight spaces
• Automatic Freightliner and International trucks
• Trucks remain at the terminal
• No passengers or pets

Shift Details

• Monday-Friday
• Start times: 4:00 AM-6:00 AM
• 10-12 hour shifts
• Potential to be home 1-2 nights per week when routes, weather, and traffic allow
• Drivers are home most days

Job Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 6 months of verifiable Class A CDL experience
• Clean driving record
• DOT Medical Card
• No SAP drivers
• Ability to safely handle and assist with unloading building products
• Comfortable backing and maneuvering in tight spaces
• Strong customer-service and communication skills
