CDL Driver - Rigger

Southern Lifting & Hoisting is hiring a CDL Driver / Crane Rigger & Lift Equipment Operator to support crane mobilization and lifting operations throughout industrial, construction, and energy projects.
This hands-on field position combines CDL driving with professional rigging, signaling, and equipment operation. You'll transport cranes, counterweights, and rigging gear, assist with crane setup and mobilization, operate forklifts, telehandlers, and aerial lifts, and work alongside experienced lifting crews to complete projects safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities include:

• Transport cranes, counterweights, rigging gear, and support equipment
• Perform professional rigging and crane signaling
• Operate forklifts, telehandlers, and aerial lifts
• Assist with crane setup, mobilization, and demobilization
• Complete inspections and required DOT documentation
• Participate in JSAs, safety meetings, and lift planning
• Follow OSHA, DOT, ASME, and company safety standards
• Represent Southern professionally on customer jobsites

This role is ideal for experienced CDL drivers who enjoy field work, equipment operation, and being part of a professional crane and rigging team.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL with air brakes
• Current DOT Medical Card
• Acceptable driving record meeting company standards
• Experience transporting heavy equipment or commercial vehicles
• Proven crane rigging and signaling experience
• Strong knowledge of rigging, load securement, and jobsite safety
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to lift, climb, and perform physically demanding work
• NCCCO Rigger and Signal Person certifications preferred
• Forklift, Telehandler, and Aerial Lift certifications preferred
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Construction preferred
