CDL Ready Mix Concrete Driver
JOB SUMMARY
The Ready Mix Concrete Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of ready mix concrete from the batch plant to various job sites. Where required, this includes operating the truck in compliance with DOT regulations, performing pre- and post-trip inspections, and ensuring proper handling of the concrete to meet customer and company quality standards. The Ready Mix Concrete Truck Driver reports to the Logistics Coordinator.
JOB FUNCTIONS
· Safely operate a ready mix concrete truck to transport and deliver concrete to construction sites
· Follow delivery instructions and communicate with dispatch, batch plant personnel, and job site foremen
· Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues
· Operate truck controls to pour and deliver concrete safely and accurately
· Monitor the consistency and temperature of concrete, making minor adjustments if necessary
· Wash down chutes and truck after delivery to maintain cleanliness and prevent concrete build-up
· Maintain proper documentation, including delivery tickets and inspection reports
· Follow all company safety procedures, traffic laws, and DOT regulations
· Represent the company professionally with customers, contractors, and the public
QUALIFICATIONS
· Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with clean driving record
· Three (3) years relevant experience as a ready mix truck driver
· 21 years of age to meet insurance requirements
· Ability to communicate clearly and follow directions
· Basic mechanical understanding of truck components and functions
FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires constant (70-100%) sitting, occasional (40-69%), lifting up to 50lbs, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, feeling, use hands to finger, hearing (listening) and observing (vision). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust and focus. This position is subject to onsite hazards including but not limited to moving industrial equipment, hazardous energies (LOTO), climbing ladders, working at heights, working on uneven or unimproved surfaces and areas of high noise levels, etc. Candidate shall be able to be medically qualified by a DOT (FMCSA) physical.
