Job Introduction:
The Lead Data Engineer provides technical leadership in the design, development, and optimization of scalable data pipelines and architecture. This role leads data engineering projects, mentors team members, and collaborates across functions to deliver high-impact data solutions that enable analytics, automation, and product innovation.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Leads the design and development of advanced ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud-native data platforms.
Collaborates with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable, reliable data solutions.
Establishes standards for data quality, validation, monitoring, and pipeline resilience.
Mentors data engineers, conducts code reviews, and shares best practices across teams.
Drives improvements in data architecture, tooling, and automation to support analytics and product features.
Partners with product, analytics, and engineering teams to align data engineering efforts with business priorities.
Evaluates and integrates new technologies, frameworks, and processes to improve scalability and performance.
Basic Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in data engineering, platform development, or distributed systems
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt)
Proven experience leading technical teams or complex engineering projects
Strong experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and DevOps practices
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
