Martin Bros is seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Class A Shuttle Driver to transport trailers between our Cedar Falls, IA Distribution center and designated domicile locations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring route drivers have their trailers and documentation ready for on-time departures each day. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to work independently during overnight and early morning hours.
Transportation & Delivery
- Safely transport assigned trailers to designated domicile locations according to schedule.
- Ensure trailers are delivered prior to scheduled route departure times.
- Pick up and return previous day's trailers to the distribution center.
- Verify trailer integrity and inspect loads for product safety before departure.
- Transport route paperwork, invoices, collections, credits, messages, supplies, carts, and other materials as needed.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting any equipment deficiencies.
- Operate commercial vehicles safely in all weather and road conditions.
- Comply with all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR), DOT requirements, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate Electronic Logging Device (ELD) records and paper logs when required.
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers, route drivers, and the public.
- Collect invoices, returns, and other route-related documentation.
- Communicate delays, equipment concerns, and route issues promptly to Transportation Management.
- Support domicile drivers and transportation operations to ensure efficient deliveries.
- Shuttle routes leaving Cedar Falls start between 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm; some routes may begin earlier or later depending on location.
- Drivers can expect to work approximately 10 hour shifts; averaging 45-50 hours per week.
- The Shuttle schedule is Sunday - Thursday evenings/overnights. Home daily.

Skills and Requirements:
- Valid Class A CDL with good driving record
- Current DOT medical card (or ability to obtain)
- 21+ years of age
- Ability to work evenings, overnight and early morning hours
- Understanding of FMCSA rules and regulations
- Sit and drive safely for extended periods of time
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check, DOT drug screen and DOT physical upon job offer
