Our Cellar Operators are integral members of our wort production and cellar team and also fulfill many other essential duties including packaging throughout the production space.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cellar work
- Fermenter and brite tank CIP
- Yeast harvest and pitching utilizing inline yeast counter
- Dry-hopping
- Fruit additions
- Beer transfers
- Centrifuge and carb skid operations
- THC dosing / mixing / carbonating
- Accurate record keeping
- Collecting lab samples when necessary (yeast counts, force ferments, etc.)
- Any and all other relevant cellar tasks as directed by Lead Brewer or Brewery Operations Manager
- Cross-train as needed in wort production and packaging
- Maintaining a meticulously clean and organized work environment
- Close adherence to all Indeed Brewing SOPs and safety procedures
- Troubleshooting and maintenance, both preventative and reactive
- Ability to multitask while strictly maintaining attention to detail and quality standards, all in a fast-paced environment
- Training of new cellar operators, as well as existing employees, on equipment or procedures
- Proper use of our business software, Encompass, to accurately track production operations & inventory, use of spreadsheets and word processing documents
- Other duties as assigned including but not limited to working during Whirlygig weekend
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-2 years of commercial brewing experience
- Ability to effectively manage time and demonstrate a strong work ethic
- Ability to multitask while being detail-oriented and quality-focused
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Experience with Encompass software preferred or other brewery management software.
- Safety-conscious
- Able to meet physical demands (see below)

- Stand; walk: climb, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, and hear.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move more than 55 pounds, drag heavy hoses across the floor along with other physically demanding duties.
- Ability to work in spaces with potentially large swings in temperature, or in sustained cold or hot conditions.
- Specific abilities in this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Variety of shifts including day and afternoon with the occasional overnight and/or weekend shifts
WORK SCHEDULE
- Full time 30+ hours per week depending on the needs of the brewery.
- 1st and 2nd shift with month long rotation between the two
- Weekend work occasionally
