Central Supply Technician
- Responsible for the inventory receipt, delivery, and restocking of PAR stations and issuing of emergency supplies to customers as required.
- Uses hand-held computer to inventory PAR stations; downloads data at workstation, producing pick tickets/orders and lowest unit of measure deliveries that are processed and delivered to each departmental area.
- Processes departmental manual notebook orders and delivers in a timely manner.
- Politely answers the telephone and processes customer requests.
- Correctly receives and verifies shipments from primary distributor, UPS, DHL, FedEx and other vendors. Inputs into computer system and delivers to designated locations in a timely manner.
- Maintains an organized and clean work area and dock staging area at all times.
- Ensures the hospital’s U.S. mail is processed in an efficient and timely manner.
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory standards including Federal, State, local and Joint Commission.
- Timely and accurately reviews and replenishes all code carts and isolation carts ensuring all supplies are in date and rotated according to departmental policy and procedure.
- Properly files paperwork for all shipments daily.
- Performs cycle counts as requested and assures the documentation of inventory supplies.
- Maintains regular attendance and complies with the time and attendance policy and procedure.
- Respects the rights and privacy of others and holds staff member information in strict confidence.
- Performs additional and/or related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
- High school graduate or equivalent required
Experience
- 1 year of supply chain experience preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Excellent spoken and written communication, team building, and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment; strong analytical skills and proficiency in using purchasing information systems and related technology; highly experienced in developing product and service specifications for purchases and request for proposals; excellent knowledge of project planning, construction and health care practices with a working knowledge of purchasing law and Uniform Commercial Code.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) required. Must be able to coordinate multiple tasks daily.
