Principal

to lead centre operations, inspire and develop teaching teams, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and foster strong partnerships with families and the community. You will play a key role in driving programme quality, maintaining a safe and nurturing learning environment, and supporting children's holistic development and school readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the overall operations of the centre in compliance with ECDA regulations, licensing requirements, and My Little Campus' policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality preschool programmes that support children's holistic development, learning success, and school readiness.
  • Uphold and reinforce high standards of health, safety, nutrition, hygiene, and child protection practices throughout the centre.
  • Champion the centre's vision, mission, and core values, ensuring alignment among staff, children, families, and stakeholders.
  • Lead, mentor, coach, and develop teaching and non-teaching staff through performance management, professional development, and capability-building initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and practical solutions to support staff in overcoming operational, administrative, and professional challenges.
  • Monitor teaching quality, curriculum implementation, classroom practices, and learning environments to drive continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain effective systems, processes, and controls to ensure smooth daily operations and service excellence.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive workplace culture that promotes teamwork, accountability, and staff engagement.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents, families, and the community through effective communication, engagement initiatives, and relationship management.
  • Manage centre resources, staffing, enrolment, and administrative matters to ensure operational efficiency and sustainability.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, staff retention, and succession planning initiatives to strengthen the centre's long-term capabilities.
  • Lead investigations, incident management, and follow-up actions relating to staff, children, parents, and centre operations where required.
  • Drive centre improvement projects and quality assurance initiatives to enhance organisational effectiveness and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Perform classroom teaching, staff coverage, and other duties as assigned by Management when operational needs require.

Required competencies and certifications

  • Degree in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) or Degree in any discipline with Diploma in Pre-school Education-Leadership (DPL)
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a childcare setting, including infant care

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Experience leading and managing teams in childcare environments
  • Knowledge of curriculum and pedagogy relevant to early childhood education
  • Experience managing centres with multiple bays or capacity of 80 to 120 children
