Certified Architect
Summary
An experienced architect (certified or pursuing ZAPS licensure) leads end-to-end design for a Slovenian construction and engineering contractor — from concept and permitting (IDP, PGD/DGD, PZI) to on-site delivery — coordinating engineers, contractors, and investors. Requires an architecture degree, knowledge of Slovenian building law, and CAD/BIM skills (ArchiCAD, Revit).
Strategic Context & Opportunity
Our client is a reputable and expanding construction, engineering, and architectural contracting enterprise based in the Savinja region, with an established portfolio of industrial, commercial, and residential developments across Slovenia. To support their expanding project pipeline and reinforce their design governance, they are appointing an experienced Architect (Certified or pursuing certification).
This role represents a high-impact opportunity for an accomplished architectural professional to drive end-to-end design execution and technical oversight. Operating across the full project lifecycle—from initial concept development and statutory permitting (IDP, PGD/DGD) through execution documentation (PZI) and on-site realization—you will combine strong engineering sensibilities with rigorous technical precision.
Acting as a key bridge between investors, multidisciplinary engineering partners, and specialized contractors, you will ensure that assigned projects meet the highest benchmarks of structural integrity, regulatory compliance, and architectural quality.
Core Responsibilities
- Architectural Design & Delivery: Develop, detail, and prepare complete architectural solutions across all project phases, ensuring seamless translation from initial concept to high-quality construction documentation.
- Multidisciplinary Coordination: Coordinate architectural requirements with structural engineers, MEP consultants, specialized design professionals, and contractors to ensure design integration and constructability.
- Regulatory Compliance & Permitting: Ensure strict compliance with Slovenian spatial planning legislation, building codes, technical standards, and municipal requirements throughout project development.
- Client & Stakeholder Interface: Collaborate with investors and clients to translate functional requirements and project objectives into technically sound, feasible architectural solutions.
- Technical Quality Control: Monitor design fidelity, material selection, and technical consistency throughout the project lifecycle, supporting the resolution of technical challenges during implementation.
- Professional Authorization & Accountability: Exercise formal professional sign-off for architectural documentation within the scope of your licensure, or work toward completing certification with full company backing.
Candidate Profile
- Formal Education: University Degree in Architecture (B.Sc. / M.Sc. or equivalent academic qualification).
- Professional Licensure: Active professional authorization (Certified Architect / Odgovorni projektant) with ZAPS, or the professional qualifications and experience required to obtain licensure (for non-certified candidates, the client provides full financial support and sponsorship to obtain the professional license).
- Track Record: Proven professional background in architectural design, project documentation, and engineering coordination across commercial, industrial, or residential developments.
- Regulatory & Technical Expertise: Strong working knowledge of Slovenian spatial and building legislation (GZ-1, ZUREP-3), combined with proficiency in modern CAD/BIM ecosystems (e.g., ArchiCAD, Revit).
- Key Competencies: Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work independently, exercise sound professional judgment, and effectively coordinate with diverse project stakeholders.
Value Proposition & Offer
- Professional Licensing Support: Full financial coverage and organizational support for obtaining the ZAPS professional license if not already acquired.
- Diverse Project Portfolio: Direct involvement in a wide range of architectural, commercial, and construction developments across Slovenia.
- Professional Autonomy: A high degree of independent execution and professional responsibility within an environment that values technical mastery and quality delivery.
- Integrated Environment: Close collaboration with experienced project managers, civil engineers, and construction specialists.
- Career Development: Long-term professional stability and opportunities for ongoing technical and professional enrichment.
