We are seeking an experienced Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to lead our 55 bed unit Healthcare Culinary Services team. The Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) oversees the daily operations of Healthcare Culinary Services, ensuring residents receive safe, nutritious, and appealing meals that meet physician orders, therapeutic diet requirements, and individual preferences.

This position provides leadership for dietary staff while partnering with nursing, culinary leadership, rehabilitation, and the Registered Dietitian to deliver exceptional resident-centered dining experiences. The Certified Dietary Manager ensures compliance with all federal, state, local, and organizational standards related to food service, sanitation, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance.

Schedule:

  • Full-Time (32-40 hours a week)
  • Monday–Friday with occasional weekends, holidays, or special events as needed.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the daily operations of Healthcare Culinary Services, including meal production, tray service, dining operations, and food quality.
  • Supervise, coach, train, and support Dietary Aides and other dietary team members.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, employee development, and performance management.
  • Ensure meals are prepared and served according to physician orders, therapeutic diets, resident preferences, and approved menus.
  • Collaborate with the Registered Dietitian, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary care team to support residents' nutritional needs.
  • Monitor resident satisfaction through meal rounds and respond to concerns to continuously improve the dining experience.
  • Participate in resident care planning meetings and interdisciplinary conferences.
  • Maintain compliance with CMS regulations, Maryland Department of Health requirements, food safety standards, and infection prevention practices.
  • Monitor kitchen sanitation, temperature logs, food storage, HACCP practices, and overall regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with budgeting, purchasing, inventory management, and cost-control initiatives.
  • Monitor food waste and recommend operational improvements.
  • Maintain required documentation, audits, reports, and departmental records.
  • Support Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
  • Prepare for state surveys and regulatory inspections.
  • Promote a positive culture centered on teamwork, hospitality, accountability, and exceptional customer service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
