SUPERVISOR:

SUMMARY:

ECS Certified Instructor is a licensed Cherry Creek teacher, working with small groups of children who are enrolled in the ECS program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist individual students or small groups of 10 students or less with homework assistance and support.

2. Create lesson plans and Instruct individual students or small groups of 10 students or less with activities within academic subjects such as reading, writing, math, science, health and foreign language.

3. Work beyond the level of monitoring children as they complete their homework.

4. Follows and enforces Rules Regulating School-Age Child Care Centers.

5. Follows and enforces procedures as stated in the ECS Procedures Manual.

6. Maintains safe conditions for all students and staff.

7. Follows and enforces program discipline procedures.

8. Works toward the goal of providing high-quality childcare.

9. Demonstrates excellent communication with parents, staff, and coworkers.

10. Follows district policies and goals and uses district facilities with care.

11. Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. The ECS Certified Instructor must have completed at least one of the following. Verification must be in the employee’s Staff Records File.

a. Age 21 and at least 3 months (455 hours) of full-time or part-time equivalent satisfactory and verifiable experience with unrelated school age children.

b. Age 18 and at least 1 year (1,820 hours) of satisfactory and verifiable full time or part-time equivalent experience working with unrelated school age children.

2. Must have a valid Colorado teacher license and currently work as either a district teacher or hold substitute teacher status.

3. Each year of employment, the ECS Certified Instructor must complete at least 15 clock hours of training.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:

All certifications, licenses, and registrations must be valid and unexpired.

1. Current First Aid and CPR certification or the ability to obtain within thirty (30) days from hire date

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

1. Occasional bending, reaching, climbing.

2. Extremely heavy physical effort (lifting 50 pounds).

3. Normal school district environment.

4. Working with others.

5. Frequent lifting, pulling, and/or pushing.

6. May be required to perform physical restraint.

7. Assist with custodial needs (feeding/toileting).
