Certified Medical Assistant, Mobile Unit
The certified medical assistant (CMA) will perform various clinical and administrative duties to keep the mobile health clinic running efficiently. The CMA will work directly with mobile clinic staff to collect test samples, maintain patient records, educate patients including, but not limited to, explaining medical procedures to patients, and assisting APRNs with basic examinations.
Responsibilities:
Assists APRNs with patient evaluation and management throughout patient visits to the mobile clinic.
The certified medical assistant will:
Collect and record patient data such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, height and weight, and basic information about presenting and previous conditions.
Directed by the APRN's, assist with simple laboratory and screening tests customarily performed in a medical office including running urine analysis, hemoglobin screening, blood sugar screening, and cholesterol screening.
Update and maintain digital EMRs and assist in transitioning hard copy records to digital format.
Clean and prepare exam rooms between patients (when patients are admitted inside mobile clinic).
Answer phone calls and greet patients, as necessary.
Assist mobile clinic team with maintaining medical supply orders and inventory.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a medical assistant, or equivalent combination of education and experience.• Associate degree, preferred • One to two years’ experience, required. • Experience in an outpatient center or medical office, preferable. • Must be able to transport themselves to and from mobile clinic sites throughout Indian River County.
