Certified Payroll & Prevailing Wage Specialist

Our Certified Payroll & Prevailing Wage Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring our construction projects meet the payroll and prevailing wage requirements that come with public, affordable, and other regulated projects.
We're looking for a Certified Payroll & Prevailing Wage Specialist who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with regulations, numbers, and people. If you enjoy digging into the details, solving compliance challenges, and helping project teams and subcontractors understand what's required, this could be a great opportunity for you.
What You'll Do:

Prepare, process, and submit weekly certified payroll reports for applicable federal, state, and local prevailing wage projects.

Review project contracts and documentation to identify certified payroll, prevailing wage, wage determination, and reporting requirements.

Collect, review, and reconcile subcontractor certified payroll submissions for completeness and accuracy.

Monitor applicable federal and state wage determinations and fringe benefit requirements and communicate updates to project teams and subcontractors.

Track missing, incomplete, or non-compliant payroll submissions and follow up with subcontractors to ensure timely corrections.

Maintain certified payroll records, Statements of Compliance, and supporting documentation in accordance with applicable requirements.

Maintain accurate tracking logs for certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements across active projects.

Serve as a primary point of contact for certified payroll audits and information requests from owners, funding agencies, and government agencies.

Train and support subcontractors and project teams on certified payroll requirements and correction processes.

Partner with Construction Accounting on labor classifications, apprentice ratios, wage calculations, and fringe benefit requirements.

Assist with certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements during the bidding and proposal process.

Stay current on changes to the Davis-Bacon Act, related regulations, and state prevailing wage laws applicable to Flaherty & Collins projects.

Identify opportunities to improve certified payroll processes, workflows, and compliance documentation.

Support Construction Accounting and Project Teams with payroll-related questions, documentation requests, and special projects.
What Makes You a Great Fit:

You have 2+ years of experience with certified payroll reporting, prevailing wage compliance, or Davis-Bacon Act requirements.

Construction accounting or compliance experience is a strong plus.

You have a strong understanding of wage calculations, fringe benefits, labor classifications, and compliance documentation.

You're exceptionally detail-oriented and take ownership of producing accurate, complete work.

You're highly organized and comfortable managing multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities.

You're confident communicating with subcontractors, project teams, internal leadership, and external partners.

You're analytical and enjoy researching regulations, identifying issues, and finding practical solutions.

You're comfortable learning and navigating technology, with proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Viewpoint, LCPtracker, or similar certified payroll software is a plus.

An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
