Channel Letters Associate
Summary
Fabricates and assembles channel letters and sign components in a manufacturing environment, following technical drawings and quality standards while supporting multiple projects.
The Channel Letter Flex associate is responsible for the fabrication and assembly of high-quality channel letters and related sign components for multiple site-specific projects. This position requires an individual who is highly motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining strict quality standards and production schedules. The Channel Letter department plays a critical role in delivering accurate, visually appealing signage that meets customer expectations and installation deadlines.
This is a flex position that requires a willingness to assist other departments throughout Poyant Signs as production demands fluctuate. The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented individual who embraces continuous improvement, works efficiently, and contributes to the overall success of the company.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Fabricate channel letters and related sign components according to approved drawings, specifications, and work orders.
- Assemble aluminum returns, backs, faces, trim caps, lighting components, and hardware as required.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, shop drawings, and fabrication details accurately.
- Manage multiple site-specific projects simultaneously while maintaining production schedules and quality standards.
- Ensure all fabricated components meet dimensional requirements and customer specifications.
- Perform quality checks throughout the fabrication process to minimize rework and production delays.
- Work closely with Production Management to prioritize work based on installation schedules and project deadlines.
- Maintain organization of work areas, materials, and in-process projects.
- Accurately complete production documentation and report progress on assigned work orders.
- Assist with material preparation, inventory organization, and restocking department supplies as needed.
- Identify potential production issues and proactively communicate concerns to management.
- Maintain production efficiency with a focus on meeting or exceeding budgeted labor hours.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE and equipment.
- Willingly cross-train and assist in other departments, including Fabrication, Paint, Final Assembly, Loading, and Field Services, as needed to support production requirements.
- Participate as a team player and assist coworkers to eliminate bottlenecks and maintain workflow throughout the facility.
- Maintain a strong focus on continuous improvement, lean manufacturing principles, and process efficiency.
- Work at a consistent pace in a high-volume manufacturing environment while maintaining quality workmanship.
