Summary
Provides 24/7 spiritual care and chaplaincy services to patients, families, and staff at a hospital, while completing ACPE-accredited Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) training.
Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is currently seeking a full-time Chaplain Resident for the Spiritual Care Department.
***(For 2026-2027 Chaplain Resident Program starting August 2026 to September 2027)
Essential Functions/Responsibilities of Position
- Responsible for 24/7 spiritual care department’s onsite on-call, chaplain coverage for patients, family and staff at MMC
- Serve as dedicated chaplain on assigned nursing unit(s) including attending morning rounds
- Participate in daily activities and tasks of the spiritual care department such as departmental meetings, interfaith prayer services, and hospital wide initiatives
- Assist ACPE Certified Educator with orientation of chaplain interns
- Participate and complete requirements for 3 units of ACPE CPE, including all educational seminars.
Education Required:
MDiv or equivalent preferred. Consideration given to students enrolled in graduate level or equivalent program.
Experience Required:
Successful completion of one unit of ACPE CPE; eligible for faith group endorsement
