A chartering consultant sources and negotiates shipping contracts for dry bulk or tanker vessels, builds client relationships, and tracks freight markets.

Job Description

  • Develop and maintain relationships with shipowners, charterers, and brokers.
  • Source and negotiate chartering opportunities for dry bulk and/or tanker vessels.
  • Conduct freight market research and provide market intelligence to clients.
  • Negotiate charter party terms and conclude fixture negotiations.
  • Coordinate with operations to ensure smooth execution of fixtures.
  • Prepare fixture recap, contracts, and related documentation.
  • Monitor vessel positions and market developments.
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand the company's client network.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in shipbroking or chartering.
  • Good knowledge of the dry bulk/tanker shipping market.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Good commercial awareness and relationship management skills.
  • Proficient in English.
