Job Scope and Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate charter agreements with clients to secure optimal shipping terms.
  • Extensive global network of ship owners/tonnage providers and charterers.
  • Identify business opportunities related to cargoes & tonnage
  • Analyze market trends and shipping rates to make informed decisions regarding chartering operations.
  • Coordinate with operation teams to ensure timely loading and unloading of cargo.
  • Maintain accurate records of all charter agreements, communications, and transactions.
  • Optimize vessel allocation & performance through regular assessments.
  • Monitor vessel performance and address any issues that may arise during transit.
  • Provide regular updates to management on chartering activities and market conditions.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the management.


Requirements:

  • Diploma / Degree in related studies
  • Able to work in a team environment independently with minimum supervision.
  • Experience in chartering is preferred.
  • Proficient in both English and Mandarin (required for communication with Mandarin-speaking associates).
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with clients and partners.
  • Ability to analyze data and market trends to inform decision-making processes.
  • Familiarity with maritime regulations and industry standards is a plus.
  • Must be available 24/7 via cellphone and committed to working beyond regular hours, including being on-call during critical voyage operations or emergencies.
