Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Chef to prepare high-quality dishes, support menu development, and maintain an efficient, hygienic, and well-organized kitchen.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook breakfast, Asian, fusion, pasta, pizza, and grilled dishes following approved recipes and presentation standards
  • Maintain consistent food quality, portion control, taste, and presentation for all menu items
  • Assist in developing menus, testing recipes, and creating seasonal specials
  • Perform mise en place and coordinate ingredient orders during busy service periods
  • Monitor inventory levels and support ordering, receiving, and proper storage of ingredients
  • Minimize food waste by managing ingredients responsibly
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and report maintenance issues promptly
  • Collaborate closely with service staff and kitchen team members to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Assist in training and guiding junior kitchen staff as needed
  • Perform opening and closing kitchen duties efficiently

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Experience in café, restaurant, Asian, or fusion cuisine
  • Ability to prepare a varied all-day menu and work confidently across multiple cooking stations
  • Knowledge of Asian cuisine, fusion cuisine, Western cuisine, pasta and pizza preparation, grilling, and food presentation
  • Skills in menu development, inventory control, food safety, kitchen operations, teamwork, organization, and time management
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as scheduled
  • Culinary qualifications or a valid Singapore Food Safety Course certificate are advantageous but not mandatory
  • Strong practical kitchen experience may substitute for formal culinary qualifications
