About the Job

Based at Mandarin Oriental, Geneva, within the Banquets Department, the Chef de Rang Banquets contributes to the smooth operation of the Banquets department in accordance with Mandarin Oriental standards and local practices. The role is responsible for banquet set-up, supervising servers and casual employees, ensuring flawless service delivery, and creating memorable guest experiences throughout every event.

As Chef de Rang Banquets, you will be responsible for:

• Ensuring banquet rooms and event spaces are perfectly prepared prior to service.
• Delivering exceptional service standards throughout banquets, conferences, and special events.
• Welcoming guests warmly and providing personalized, attentive service in line with Mandarin Oriental's legendary hospitality standards.
• Supervising Servers and Casual Employees during events and ensuring service quality is maintained at all times.
• Maintaining strong guest relations and ensuring complete guest satisfaction throughout the event.
• Coordinating banquet operations with other hotel departments to ensure seamless event execution.
• Managing banquet equipment and ensuring all tools, furniture, and facilities are maintained in excellent condition.
• Monitoring cleanliness, organization, and stock levels within banquet offices, meeting rooms, and storage areas.
• Assisting with guest billing when required.
• Following and promoting all Mandarin Oriental standards, LQE principles, HACCP procedures, and Safe & Sound policies.

As Chef de Rang Banquets, we expect from you:

• A genuine passion for luxury hospitality and guest service excellence.
• Previous experience as Chef de Rang, Senior Waiter, or a similar role in a luxury hotel, banqueting, or fine dining environment.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities during high-volume events.
• Leadership skills with the ability to supervise, motivate, and support team members and casual staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility regarding working schedules, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Good knowledge of luxury service standards and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HACCP, Health & Safety, and Fire & Life Safety procedures.
• Fluency in French and English; additional languages are an asset.
• A valid Swiss work permit or an EU passport.
