Chef - Hospital

We have a casual position available for a Chef at the Canossa Private Hospital in Oxley.
Your Role
As a Chef, you'll be looking after the most important people in our organisation - our patients, residents and staff. Your tasks will include:

Prepare and cook daily nutritionally balanced meals for patients, residents and staff

Prepare food in accordance with the official menu of Ozcare Services and to satisfy special function requirements

Apply methods of cooking to a range of food items in their preparation for the given menu

Order main line food commodities and maintain stock reserves and control as required

Supervise support staff directly associated with the kitchen environment (where applicable)

Ensure the needs of the patients and residents are met through regular monitoring of catering services

Monitor and comply with Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental practices

Demonstrate commitment to continuous quality improvement in the Food Services Department

Role Requirements

Must be available 7 days per week

Self-starter and a team player

Be vaccinated (and maintain up-to-date vaccinations) against Influenza and Covid-19

Current Police Screening Certificate

Food Safety Supervisor Certificate

Certificate IV in commercial cookery

Demonstrated previous cooking experience for large groups would be an advantage

First aid and CPR certificate required within one month of commencement
